"Black Henna" Warning

Beware any artist claiming to use "black henna"! The greenish/brown paste is somewhat dark when it goes on, but it is not black! And when the paste comes off, the stain that remains on your skin is orange/red/brown. "Black henna" contains a chemical found in hair dye called PPD (para-phenylenadiamine) and can cause severe allergic reactions! For more information, read this article on the Henna Page.
